It Has Been a LOOOOOONG Time

Since I last posted on this blog. . . I have attended the Charlevoix Fiber Festival at the Castle in Charlevoix as a vendor for the first time, and  the Northern Michigan Wool and Lamb Festival in West Branch as a vendor.  Both shows with the partnership and moral support of my "Sister in Spin", Tracie Herkner.
Silk as wormed its way into my repertoire and I find that spinning gorgeous hand painted silk bricks from Briar Rose and plying them with my hand spun, hand dyed alpaca is something very special!  Being an art major in college, dying and playing with color is pure fun!

Once again I helped with the shearing of the "kids" at Aral Peak.  There is nothing like getting down and dirty with an alpaca.  I love the smell, I love the feel of the fiber, I love being part of the crew, I love getting all  dirty.. . and the conversation, beer and pizza afterward is durn fun as well!

We (Tracie and I) brought another friend over to the "dark side" this fall.  A weekend visit to Beaver Island was more than enough time to bring another "Spin Sister" into the fold.
Added to the group at Aral Peak is a herd of Southdown Baby Doll Sheep.  Six ewes, one ram, and eight babies!  Two of the ewes had twins.  Cute? An understatement for sure. Four legged Ewoks with perpetual smiles upon their little faces.
